Entry into force : 1 November 1998.
The Sixth Protocol consolidates into one instrument the relevant provisions of the Fourth and
Fifth Protocols. It is applicable to the «new» Court which started to function on 1 November 1998.
Summary of the treaty
The Sixth Protocol sets up the privileges and immunities granted to the Judges of the
permanent Court of Human Rights during the discharge of their duties as well as during travels made during the discharge of their duties.
