Espagne :

Reservation made at the time of deposit of the instrument of ratification, on 11 August 1988 - Or. Sp./Fr.

In accordance with Article 18.1 (Appendix II), Spain derogates from the provisions of Article 10, paragraph 2 declaring that one half of any private insurance premiums will be covered by the receiving family and that, before the conclusion of the agreement, this should be brought to the attention of any person interested in an "au pair" placement.

In accordance with Article 18.1 (Appendix II), Spain declares that the designation of a public body entitled to deal with "au pair" placement will be deferred until the practical arrangements for the implementation of the Convention can be made.

France :

The French Government reserves the right, as provided in paragraph b of Annex II to the Agreement, to adopt, of the two methods specified in Article 6, paragraph 1, only that which lays down that the agreement in writing shall be concluded before the person placed "au pair" leaves the country in which that person was resident;

As regards the application of Article 4, paragraph 1, persons placed "au pair" in France must be at least 18 years of age; this age may, however, be reduced to 17 if the person concerned can show that they have a legal representative in France, which expression shall be deemed to mean either the father, the mother or a person to whom parental authority has been delegated;

As regards the application of Articles 6 and 11, under the existing French regulations the original agreement under which a person placed "au pair" is engaged must cover a period of at least three months.

Italie :

Declaration contained in a letter from the Permanent Representative of Italy, dated 2 November 1973, handed to the Secretary General at the time of deposit of the instrument of ratification, on 8 November 1973 - Or. Ital.

The Italian public bodies entitled to deal with "au pair" placement shall be the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (Directorate General of Employment) and the provincial Labour and Employment Offices.

Annex II, Article 18.1

b. the agreement between the interested parties (receiving family and person placed "au pair") shall be concluded before the person placed "au pair" leaves the country in which that person was resident;

c. where the person placed "au pair" wishes to be entitled to benefits other than those mentioned in Annex I, only one half of the private insurance premiums shall be covered by the receiving family.

Luxembourg :

Reservation contained in a letter from the Permanent Representative of Luxembourg, dated 20 July 1990, registered at the Secretariat General on 24 July 1990 - Or. Fr.

In accordance with Article 18 of the European Agreement on au Pair Placement, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg declares that it makes use of the reservations b and d contained in the Annexe II to the said Agreement.

Norvège :

Reservation made at the time of signature, on 29 April 1971 - Or. Fr.

Norway reserves the right to apply, of the two procedures mentioned in Article 6, paragraph 1, only that which lays down that the rights and obligations of the person placed "au pair" and the receiving family shall be the subject of an agreement in writing before the person placed "au pair" leaves the country in which that person was resident.
